Renowned violin pedagogue Linda Rose was a faculty member of CSU Long Beach for 17 years. She’s played with the Los Angeles Philharmonic under several conductors, along with the Los Angeles Opera and Pasadena Symphony. She was Concertmaster and soloist with the Long Beach Bach Festival for 11 years, and has recorded with them on Alpine Records.

Sandra is a property management software consultant who serves as a Community Ambassador for Food Forward. Previously, she was the co-founder of Team One Management, a non-profit, trade association and HOA management company. She also served in numerous professional women’s boards and was the youngest president of the Orlando Business and Professional Women’s Club, Florida Federation BPW Editor and District Director.

Carolyn Sykes is the owner of Pacific Harps in Pasadena, which has been providing harp lessons, harp music, and harp sales and rentals for over 20 years. She has an MFA in harp performance from the California Institute of the Arts, and is a certified event coordinator.

Rev. Charles Updike, Pastor Emeritus of the First Baptist Church of Glendale has a deep commitment to serving the arts community as a spiritual guide and encourager. Under his leadership, the FBCG initiated contact with local artists and led the church to develop weekly Glendale Noon Concerts and partnered with Ruslan Biryukov to establish FBCG as the host home of the newly formed Glendale Philharmonic in 2009.

Grant is a Harvard-educated lawyer who specializes in non-profit governance, business law, and litigation. He enjoys attending concerts, plays, operas and dance.

Amanda is educated in music as a violinist and trumpet player, and is experienced working with small businesses and non-profits. She enjoys live performances, road trips and Sunday Fun Day with her family.

LaVette is a California native and graduate of the University of Iowa with a B.M. in Performance, Minor in Composition and an A.S. in Accounting from Compton Community College. She is a strings teacher, member of various orchestras in SoCal and a member of Ocdamia String Quartet and Amalfi String Quartet.
Founder and Executive Director
Ruslan is the founder and Executive Director of Positive Motions Foundation. He continues to maintain an international audience as a performer, along with a prestigious teaching career in Russia, Europe and United States, with his students delivering more than 200 awards at various competitions to date. Ruslan enjoys flying airplanes and is a Certified Flight Instructor.
